No-Added Sugar Hazelnut Chocolate Spread

  • 3 tbsp (22g) of powdered Total Sweet
  • 1 1/2 cup (200g) of hazelnuts
  • 2 tbsp of coconut oil
  • 3/4 tbsp of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract (optional)
  • 1 tsp of cornstarch

Who doesn’t love a little bit of chocolate spread in the morning with your toast? Well, why not try making this super easy recipe to make your mornings tasty but just that little bit healthier.

1. Preheat your oven to 180˚C and roast the hazelnuts for about 10 minutes, until the skin starts peeling off.

2. Let them cool, rub with your hands or a cloth to remove skins.

3. While the hazelnuts are roasting, start making the powdered sugar. Put the Total Sweet® in a blender with 1 tsp of cornstarch (add in more if needed). The end result should be a powdery consistency.

4. Add the roasted hazelnuts, coconut oil, powdered Total Sweet, cocoa powder and vanilla extract into the blender and start.

5. After 2 minutes your spread will be firm, scrape down the sides and continue to blend.

6. Continue the process until your sugar free chocolate spread is smooth and thick.

7. Taste and adjust if needed, then fill an airtight jar at room temperature.
